His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Rashid Al Mualla.

Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Umm Al Quwain.

 

He is His Highness Sheikh / Saud bin Rashid bin Ahmed bin Rashid bin Ahmed bin Abdullah bin Rashid bin Majid Al Mualla. He is the eldest son of the late, Sheikh / Rashid bin Ahmed bin Rashid Al Mualla. He is a member of Al Ali tribe, which is the tribe of the rulers of the Emirate of Umm Al Quwain, which is a branch of Rabia, from bin Oded bin Zaid, and the rulers of the Emirate of Umm Al Quwain are from the Al Ali tribe.His Highness was born in the city of Umm Al Quwain on 01/10/1952, married to the daughter of His Highness Sheikh / Saqr bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, and he has ten sons.He completed his primary and preparatory education in the Emirate of Umm Al Quwain, and finished his secondary education in the Republic of Lebanon. He completed his university education at Cairo University and graduated in 1973 from the Faculty of Economics.

 

He received several courses in different fields in order to acquire language and refine his knowledge and culture.He was appointed a third secretary in the office of the Foreign Ministry in 01/06/1973. In 1977, he was appointed commander of the National Guard in the emirate in the rank of a colonel.

He took over the presidency of the Umm Al Quwain Emiri Diwan in 1979.In 22/07/1982, he was appointed as Crown Prince of the Emirate of Umm Al Quwain.

His Highness worked alongside his father in governing and monitoring of investment projects in the emirate and contributed to the establishment of many of the local departments and institutions and followed-up their management and development so that they kept pace with the overall renaissance witnessed by the UAE.

 

Alongside his father, he also attended several meetings at the level of the Federal Supreme Council. He represented his father in these meetings, and has a political and economic presence, and experience in the management of economic institutions and other.He presided many boards of directors of joint stock companies, especially Bank of Umm Al Qaiwain, and Umm Al Quwain Gas Company, and Umm Al Qaiwain Cement Company.He contributed to the conclusion of oil and gas exploration and investment agreements in the Emirate of Umm Al Quwain, and launched the first joint gas project with the Government of Ras Al Khaimah in the offshore field in 2006.

 

His Highness studied the performance reality in government departments in Umm Al Quwain, and worked on the development of new mechanisms for the development their work in accordance with the modern electronic systems. He contributed to the refinement of national cadres in the departments and institutions, as well as the development of new departments, the adoption of the emirate's plans, and the continued follow-up of the implementation of his instructions regarding the development of services,
